Mid-Review: Total Reload

Total Reload is the kind of indie game that immediately grabs your attention with its unique combination of puzzle-focused gameplay and storytelling. I found myself spending hours stumped by its puzzling levels, yet still wanting to continue, no matter how sophisticated or challenging the puzzles became.

From traveling through portals and connecting power supplies to activate platforms and reach new areas, to jumping between portals in completely different sections of the game to solve power-connection puzzles that allow you to progress through a previous level or area, Total Reload constantly encourages you to think beyond the immediate puzzle in front of you.

This interconnected approach to level design is what makes the game so intriguing. What initially appears to be an obstacle in one area may actually require you to explore somewhere else and solve an entirely different puzzle before you can proceed. It creates a satisfying sense of discovery and makes each new area feel like another piece of a much larger puzzle.

At this point in my playthrough, Total Reload has managed to keep me curious and engaged. Even when a puzzle leaves me completely stumped, the desire to figure out how everything connects keeps pulling me back in. If the game continues building on these ideas, I'm looking forward to seeing where the remaining levels take me.
