Community Guidelines

Next Generation Gaming is a place for players of every platform to talk about the games they love. To keep the community welcoming, informed, and fun, everyone participating here agrees to follow these guidelines.

1. Be Respectful

Debate the game, not the gamer. Personal attacks, name-calling, threats, or intimidation directed at another user, developer, journalist, or public figure will be removed and may result in an account suspension.

2. No Hate Speech or Harassment

Content that promotes hate, violence, or discrimination based on race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, age, or any other protected characteristic is not allowed. This includes slurs, "just joking" hate, dog-whistles, and coordinated harassment.

3. Keep it On-Topic

NGG covers video games, gaming hardware, and gaming culture across PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo, Steam, and PC. Please keep comment threads related to the article. Off-topic derailing, political flame-baiting unrelated to gaming, and cross-platform trolling ("console wars" for the sake of it) will be moderated.

4. No Spam or Self-Promotion

• No unsolicited advertising, affiliate/referral link drops, or link farming
• No repeated identical comments (copypasta)
• No bots, scripts, or vote-manipulation
• Creators: you can share your own content occasionally when genuinely relevant to a discussion, but overt self-promotion in every thread is spam

5. Spoiler Etiquette

If a story is less than 30 days old, use spoiler tags or write "SPOILER" clearly at the top of your comment. Do not put unmarked spoilers in article titles or comment previews. Repeated spoiler-baiting will result in a comment ban.

6. No Illegal Content

Do not post, link to, or request:

• Pirated games, ROMs, or emulator downloads of copyrighted content
• Account credentials, cheat services that violate game ToS, or stolen keys
• Hacks that expose personal information of players or developers ("doxxing")
• Any content that violates local, national, or international law

7. NSFW / Adult Content

NGG is a general-audience gaming site. Sexually explicit, gratuitously violent, or shock content is not allowed regardless of context. Some game imagery contains mature themes — that's fine when the content is being reviewed or discussed — but user-generated posts must remain SFW.

8. Report, Don't Retaliate

See something that breaks these rules? Use the report link on the offending post or send us a note at community@nextgengaming.gg. Don't retaliate in-thread — that just gives us more to moderate. Our moderators review reports and act quickly.

9. Enforcement

Depending on severity, violations may result in:

• Comment removal — the post is deleted, no other action
• Warning — a note in your account file; repeat offenders escalate
• Temporary suspension — 7 or 30 days lock-out
• Permanent ban — for severe or repeated violations

We reserve the right to enforce these guidelines at our discretion. Bans may be appealed once via appeals@nextgengaming.gg.

10. Have Fun

Video games are joyful. We want NGG to feel like a place you actually enjoy coming back to — not a battlefield. Play nice, and thanks for being here.
