Today, NEXT GENERATION GAMING received an email from Capcom ID regarding a security breach discovered on October 19, 2026. Capcom has confirmed that unauthorized third-party access resulted in customer information associated with its account service being compromised.

According to Capcom's disclosure, the incident affected 11,774,247 accounts worldwide. The company says it immediately blocked the unauthorized access, launched an investigation, and implemented emergency security measures.

Here at NEXT GENERATION GAMING, we would like to thank Capcom for its prompt response and for taking action to address the incident.

WHAT INFORMATION WAS EXPOSED?

The breach involved email addresses and associated account information, including account creation dates, last login dates and times, login counts, and IP addresses used during the most recent login.

Capcom also reported that additional profile information—including dates of birth, gender, country or region, and nicknames—was exposed for 43 accounts.

Furthermore, unauthorized password changes occurred on 196 accounts. Capcom says the passwords for those accounts have been reset.

There is some reassuring news amid the incident: Capcom has stated that it found no evidence that customers' originally set login passwords were compromised, and credit card information was not affected. The company continues to investigate the incident and is contacting affected customers.
